Tal Farlow, Talmage Holt Farlow, was an American self-taught jazz guitarist, who was such a great player that Gibson made a guitar named after him, and designed by him. Tal lived, played and taught in New Jersey. His venue was the Yankee Clipper restaurant in Sea Girt New Jersey, on the beach. Tal bailed out of the limelight after several of his albums recorded on major labels catapulted him to fame. He chose to lead a quiet life, teaching and playing and refining his awesome talent. He had hands the size of catcher's mitts, and a heart of gold. He occasionally toured with the Benedetto players at various exhibitions, and shows. But other than that kept a low profile. Knicknamed the Octopus, for his large hands, the Octopus had Gibson turn the fretboard inlays around, and added the trademark scroll. The guitar is laminate for reduced reverberation, for on stage amplified playing with less feedback. The pickups are two 57 classic pups. The neck has a full C profile, with a stinger paint job at the headstock. Embossed serial number on HS. Dual inner cavity labels indicating 1994 as the year of production. Guitar has no breaks , repairs, dings or bops. Just the usual evidence of having been played over the last 25 years. Includes the original packing slip, and the OHSC. Satisfaction is guaranteed. Returns for defects or inaccuracies. Other reasons may incur a 5% restocking fee. Shipping fees are not refundable unless returns are for defects or shipping damage. Full insurance. Thanks. International sales welcome! CITES compliant.
