This is a 2014 new condition ES-5, aka, Switchmaster Archtop Electric Guitar from the Gibson Custom Shop - the Crimson Line. The ES-5 dates back to 1949 and with a 4 way switch and 3 Classic 57 pickups (presently), and 6 volume and tone controls, makes for a guitar of a “1000 voices”. This is in VSB, highly figured laminate top back and sides in maple laminate. The laminate reduces feedback quite a lot. Has a fancy tail piece, with adjustable bridge. 4 way pup selector with its trademark lever look. The neck is maple and walnut round C profile, with a rosewood fretboard. A gorgeous piece.
